a thank you letter that rarely comes =)

Dear All,

As most of you loyal readers had been well informed, i was in melbourne for six days to attend my convocation ceremony held at the famous Robert Blackwood Hall, Monash Clayton Campus.

if u asked me, how i felt after receiving the degree scroll, i'd say alhamdulillah i'm glad i have a bachelor degree in my hands now. but i haven't reached that level of satisfaction just yet. hence, the happiness is there but still reachable.

my dreams would be to continue my studies till the highest level. unfortunately due to time constraint and important demands i'm almost responsible to fulfill, insyaAllah i'll pursue that in the near future i pray. like i mentioned in previous posts, there are just a lot of things i want to do in this life. life is just once and i want to ensure i do what i want with my life. the sad thing is, life is really really short. .

alhamdulillah the melbourne trip went well. my parents must've been proud seeing me and kaina walking on the stage accepting the blue scroll in that graduation hall. i prayed for the convo to go well, and it did alhamdulillah. i didn't trip whatsoever like in the movies. lol.

here, my thank yous would go to my parents, my darling sisters shana and an, sarah and emma for making time for us despite having exams on monday, ieja, zati and nik for being there although they were late but i heart you guys so much. thank you so much for the gorgeous flowers and not to forget the cute teddy bear. i sayang you all very very much <3 aishah and zah couldn't make it since they had exams the following day, but they said sorry and congratulated us. thank youuu. i wanted qilah to come as well since it might be the last time i see her in melbourne, but she was caught up with her assignment. but thank you for the wish lass xx

later that night, we had a celebration. for the convo and my birthday as well. how nice is that =) ieja and sarah suggested Sawasdee restaurant and after confirmation from the islamic council that the restaurant serves halal food (since there's no halal sign because they serve alcohol and the beef is not halal), that was the venue for the celebration. thai food i love thai food! thank you papa ibu.

i invited berwick ex-housemates; sarah and aishah, zah and emma, madeleine ex-housemates; ieja zati and nik, plus yanna and dorot. unfortunately due to exams, zah and emma couldn't make it as well as dorot. i called yanna to confirm her attendance but she said she might not be able to come due to a small matter in clayton (she's already in the city. sawasdee is located in chinatown). going back to clayton and coming back to the city again would mean an hour plus journey. i wanted her to come so much so i had to force her. i'm sorry yannaaaa lol. and had to mention that its my birthday the next day. she was like "omg i have to come then!". she said she'll call back if she couldn't make it, and i said "i don't want to receive any calls from you yanna". and i didn't. she came =) thank you so much darl. i appreciate it. so yeah, she did go back to clayton and drove to the city again that night with the madeleine girls.

ok the best part is, yanna was with harith when i called her up. yes, harith yang i haven't seen for yearsssss (except at the last masca match this year. it was a brief momentttt). harith's family is a close family friend. i just had to ask him to tag along of course! but he did the first move; "uncle zahar and everyone pon ade ke? kalau camtu i maybe datang skali la dinner tonite". hahaha. i'm glad you came harith. it has been so long since my parents saw you. and mak was really happy to see you for sure. thank you for joining us =)

after i thought the dinner was over, since it was already 10:45 i think (Sawasdee closes at 10:30), the pianist played the birthday song and there was a cake for me and kaina placed by the waitress in front of me. it was really unexpected since i figured papa wouldn't have bought any cakes in melbourne considering the ingredients inside. but he did! a blueberry butter cake i think? haha. it was just nice and cute and everyone had some by sharing their slices. i like ;o)

and so the dinner was a blast and i really really had fun and thankful that our friends were able to spend the night with us. thank you thank youuuu! i feel like hugging you all lama lama. damn i la i sayang you all so much.

we got presents from papa and ibu. although i already got mine like 4 months back ( i wanted the phone so much =p ) and kaina got hers, but it was a simple gift just for the sake of the celebration. thank youuuuu so much papa ibu. i love you both unconditionally. and thank you to sarah and aishah for being thoughtful and handed us perfume boxes. thank you!

(this is already a lengthy one i'm sorry bear with me)

so at the end of the night, i was forced to give a speech. i didn't want to but everyone was staring at me waiting for one! scary eyessss! hahaha. and yes, i did give a thank you speech but kaina escaped from giving hers. tak aci kannn. she was in tears dah in fact! lol. she was touched and so couldn't bear to give even a brief one. after i did, izzati requested to give hers. voluntarily bravo zati! lepas tu i expected a speech from every one of them. haha. so the girls gave quick ones plus harith as well. thank you very very much! honestly i was holding back my tears. i wanted to cry every time each of them gave their special speeches to me and kaina. especially from ieja, zati, and yanna. there were tears at the corner of my left eye but i refused to cry there in public. thank you so much zati, nik, ieja, harith, yanna, aishah and sarah! you guys made my day <3

special thanks to shana for being the photographer and an for recording the meaningful event. thank you very much sayangss. i love you both mucho <3 <3 and of course to my dad for paying the bill ;p and to papa ibu for buying the gift and cake, and mak for being there, for our convo and our twenty second birthday celebration. thank youuuu!

lastly, i was at my happiest that night. i sensed contentment and clicking through the photos in the dinner album in my fb profile, all you could see is smiles on my face. damn la i love my family and friends. this is not berbasi basi, this is for real. you guys are the burning candles in my life. lit up my days when i'm not at my happiest. and i hope it stays that way forever. i'm blessed with beautiful people around me.

how i wished anwar, idris, amira, and karina could've joined us. if only i could find the time to make a second celebration. but coming back home would mean heavy workload for me, and you all being occupied with revisions ;( next time please, amiin.

( i actually had to text this dear friend of mine to wish me since it was already 11pm on nov 6th. and i don't normally do thattt. yanna's case is exceptional =p ).


"Ekha, i topup just 4 u. Hahaha. i igt nk wish kat fb je, tp u marah laju sgt. happy birthday ekha. ur 22. i usually would say act like a 22, but d way u tink hs proven dat u r beyond ur age. N may god provide u many more birthdays so i could always have an amazing friend n an elder sister which i never had".


i know you don't read this, but thank you paan. that's so sweet of you. and i'm sorry for troubling you! lol
