north outstation trip.

outstation trip on the 18th. north, this time. went to south last december. took a flight to kedah with dad at 8am. had three appointments at UUM. had really cheap lunch at the food court. nasi campur RM3 for chicken, beef, and vegy. and i was full. abang azri had a light lunch, fried bihun with fried egg. RM1.20 ! yeah *gasp* that price might not even cover a bottled mineral water in kl.

we had zuhur prayer (jamak skali) at a mosque in kangar. at 2pm, off to UNIMAP in perlis together with abang azri. he was already in kedah the night before. i was surprised knowing unimap does not have its own campus. they're located everywhere. like scattered everywhereee. rented buildings. but they're building up a new campus. good. at 3.30, appointment with the head pustakawan kanan, pn fatimah at uitm perlis. oh do u know that uitm's first campus is in perlis? yeah, really old. like 34 yearsss old. after the meeting, before we headed to penang, we had yumcha near the campus. yumcha la sangat papa had nasi ayam and bihun sup. but that's because he had bread for lunch. hee

arrived penang a few minutes afta 7pm. supposed to have dinner with usm's head librarian, but he was unwell and so papa and i had the famous kuey teow crc. spicy skit nyummm! we stayed at the royal penang that used to be sheraton. papa knows a few staff there. uncle bazli was even there when we checked in and he gave us a deluxe room at a really good rate. soooo lucky! papa and uncle bazli have known since zaman tok kaduk. ok kidding. zaman kanak-kanak. when they were toddlers. main sama sama kat kampung melayu. how i wish i knew someone from my childhood and remain friends till now.

next day, by 9am, we've reached uitm penang. had a short meeting and off to IPPT to see en nasir the new head there. honestly, he looks uneducated.. but dont judge too fast! he's one of the few librarians whom i think is really good and knows what's best for the library. then, abang azri bawak pi mana tah. pi makan nasi minyak. sedaaaaap. papa's idea la of course. papa knows good places to eat in penang. but abang azri has mastered penang routes ! better than papa ! oh come on. he comes to penang like monthly kottt. ok la every other month. driving in penang is kacang to him.

arrived penang airport at 2 plus. while waiting, i caught my eye on something that i've been longing for for months. i've been eyeing on something else but it was too expensive. the one i saw at the airport was more affordable and without much thought, i grabbed it. this one is good enough ;o) the flight took off at 4pm. firefly is always on time i likee! abang lan fetched us at subang airport. reached home at almost 5.30.
